CATV Variable Gain Amplifiers for RF Level Control

SANLAND’s CATV VGAs are variable gain amplifiers with a voltage-controlled attenuator. Built on a 0.5 μm GaAs E/D-mode pHEMT process, they combine low noise and high linearity in a compact QFN package.

Designed for CATV and FTTH signal paths, the series supports adjustable gain control, compact board integration and flexible 5 V / 12 V power supply options.

HIGH GAIN

Up to 44 dB listed gain

VARIABLE CONTROL

Maximum 28 dB control range

FLEXIBLE POWER

Single +5 V / 12 V power supply

VGA DESIGN FOCUS

Balance gain, control range and level stability in CATV RF paths

The key selection points are typical gain, gain-control range, AGC input behavior, equivalent input noise and the final system power rail.

WHAT TO COMPARE

01
Typical GainCheck how much RF amplification the stage can provide.
02
Gain-Control RangeDefines the available adjustment window for signal-level control.
03
AGC Control VoltageConfirms compatibility with the system control loop.
04
Equivalent Input Noise & SupplyEvaluate noise contribution together with 5 V / 12 V power requirements.

WHAT IT SUPPORTS

CATV Level ControlHelps maintain stable output levels in CATV receiver paths.
FTTH RF PathsSupports adjustable RF gain in FTTH and optical terminal designs.
AGC Loop Integration0–3 V control fits closed-loop gain-control implementations.
Compact Board LayoutQFN-24 package supports dense PCB integration.
